Presidents Council Meeting 3-9-01
OPENING REMARKS - Chairman Earl Weeks opened the meeting at 8 AM.
The 2-9-01 minutes were approved.
JLGC ACTIVITIES - Paul Moore reported that the golf course had been surveyed to facilitate installation of the new irrigation system. The survey has revealed several surprises reference the location of JLGC property lines. It is the intent of the JLGC Board to resolve these issues by deeding over the effected property using a quick claim. Jack Mofatt will represent the JLGC and will work with the appropriate village presidents. No problems are anticipated. Paul talked about the planned work on the JL golf course. Highlights were:
The fairways will be roto-tilled to a depth of 12-16 inches and then be sprigged
using 600-700 bushels of sprigs per acre.
The greens will have their sub-bases reworked.
The gray water pond between number 3 and number 7 will be doubled in size and will be used to water the entire course.
Two more applications of herbicide (grass killer) are planned before work starts.
Work hours will be 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM six days a week. No work on Sunday.
JL POA ACTIVITIES Bill Howe reported the following:
A letter challenging certain POA activities was hand delivered to many homes.

The two new entrance flagpoles will be installed in March.
Work continues to get the County to alter the red light at the north gate so that
it does not stay red for the entire time the bridge is up.
4) Our hand held radar gun is now in operation and the portable speed indicator
will be operational within the month.
As reported last month the County sheriff is trying to assess J.L. because his
officers are occasionally asked to enter J.L. (6 times in 2000). Bill Howe has
scheduled a meeting with Karen Marcus to resolve this issue.

DCB ACTIVITIES Glenn Fetter reported:
The DCB has reviewed the J.L. golf course upgrade plans and will work with
the golf club to insure that no trees and/or shrubs are removed that adversely
The DCB and the golf club will do everything possible to minimize the inconvenience to residents during the eight-month course upgrade.
SECURITY REPORT Bob Shea Copy of 3/7/01 security report is attached. Bob also reported that minor problems have been experienced with the new bar code system and these are being worked on by the supplier.
OLD BUSINESS Gordon Cook thanked the Council for the work done on propane
with spot prices near $2.00/gallon, savings to J.L. in 2000 will exceed $100,000.
NEW BUSINESS Earl Weeks appointed Bob Johnson, Connie Imming and Bruce
Hamlett, as a Nominating Committee to select officers for the 2002 Presidents Council.
Vote will be at the next meeting.
