PRESIDENTS COUNCIL MINUTES

March 14, 2003


OPENING REMARKS: Chuck Woolard opened the meeting at 8:00 AM. The minutes of the February meeting were approved. New Presidents were introduced.


SECRETARY/TREASURER’S REPORT: Lou Watson reported that all villages were represented with the exception of Casseeky Island, Southport and the Harbour. The bank account has $955.


JLGC ACTIVITIES: Golf Course conditions have improved with the weather. The club has introduced a competitively priced summer program. Turtle Creek and Hobe Sound will be added due to their renovation programs. All the courses will be closed at intervals during the summer months for maintenance. There will always be two courses open. Discussion was held over closed golf club meetings.


JLPOA ACTIVITIES: Nils Kindwall urged everyone to get to the annual meeting next Tuesday. He announced the annual duck collection would occur next week. The county has altered its policy on “exotic” bushes such as the Brazilian Pepper. The new number for the office is 743-2032. Glen Fetter gave a discussion of general principles for the DCB

.

SECURITY: John Wagner discussed security issues. It has been quiet. A study is being done of speeding and 12 out of 13 are residents. Enforcement could occur in the future.


NEW BUSINESS: A discussion was held regarding the closed golf club meetings. It was decided to place this on the agenda for the next meeting. A report was held on propane costs, which are going up. They are now .17 for pools and .48 for residents.

GENERAL


JONATHAN’S LANDING DRIVERS ARE AGAIN REMINDED TO USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN ENTERING THE PROPERTY FROM THE LEFT TURN LANES ON ALTERNATE A1A AND INDIANTOWN ROAD. LAST WEEK A RESIDENT WAS INVOLVED IN A SERIOUS COLLISION WHILE ATTEMPTING TO NEGOTIATE A LEFT TURN FROM INDIANTOWN ROAD ONTO JONATHAN DRIVE AT NORTHGATE. LUCKILY, THE RESIDENT’S INJURIES WERE ONLY SUPERFICAL.

PERSONNEL

I AM PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT JOHN FRANKEL HAS BEEN SELECTED AS THE SECURITY OFFICER OF THE QUARTER. JOHN HAS BEEN ON STAFF AT JONATHAN’S LANDING SINCE SEPTEMBER OF 1993. DURING THAT TIME HE HAS DEVELOPED AN OUTSTANDING REPUTATION FOR HIS TOUGH BUT FAIR APPLICATION OF ENTRY PROCEDURES AT OUR HIGH VOLUME CENTRAL GATEHOUSE.

HE IS A LOYAL, CONSISTANT AND HIGHLY RELIABLE MEMBER OF OUR SECURITY TEAM WHO IS COMMENDED FOR HIS WORK ETHIC AND HIS DEDICATION TO THE JOB. IT IS BECAUSE OF THESE QUALITIES THAT THE JLPOA HAS DESIGNATED HIM AS THE “SECURITY OFFICER OF THE QUARTER.”
